With all the news, buzzing about psychics, psychic readings, and psychic services lately it is no wonder people suffer from a little psychic overload. Many of the new TV series on network television glamorize the paranormal with their glitzy girls and flair for the dramatic.

Truth is that the paranormal is not so paranormal anymore. Psychic phenomenon has really hit the mainstream. In addition, with the return of some of the nefarious old faces in the psychic network industry (who will remain nameless) it is no wonder that commercial spiritualism is back with a vengeance. Those late night infomercials featuring psychic readers will undoubtedly resurface soon complete with their 800 numbers that direct you to 900 numbers. It is amazing how even making a profit on things as ghastly as 9/11 or the holocaust seems accepted by pop culture. Whoever said capitalism is dead is full of bull jive. If there is, a chance to make a buck someone will be there to make it no matter what the cost. Whether it means commercializing spirituality or making monetizing the misery of others it is no wonder many around the world feel that America is a cauldron of evil doers bereft of morals.

The positive aspect in this wide spread acceptance of psychics is that many are opening up their minds to new ways of thinking and viewing the world. I hope that over time psychics and spiritualists will usher in a new golden age of enlightenment for the mass populous. At the very least people may grab hold of some values or value system rather than flailing about aimlessly in a spiritual void.

Believing in a higher self is an integral part of true happiness. Selfless acts of kindness bring their own rewards. However, as long as things cost money there will always be a fee for what people are willing to pay for including religion and spirituality. Therefore, the next time you are watching your favorite psychic program on your local network TV station ask yourself what the real cost of your evening’s entertainment is.
